Pre/Post Treatment

What should I do before my treatment?

Try to stay out of the sun before a laser treatment. Hair can be more aggressively treated without a fresh tan. You cannot wax, tweeze, thread or have electrolysis for 3 weeks before a session. The day before your appointment the hair will need to be shaved. Purchase either aloe, Vitamin E gel or sunburn creams and keep them in your fridge ready to use after your treatment.

What can I expect during the treatment?

A consent form will need to be filled out prior to the start of laser treatment. A touch up shave will be done if there is hair still visible. Eclipse will then distinguish which Fitzpatrick skin type you are before treatment begins in order to guage parameters for machine settings. The skin will be cleaned often while the assistant applies the Cool Roller for comfort.

What should I do after my treatment?

A post treatment care sheet will be given to aid in reducing discomfort over the next few hours after your session. Please follow the suggestions such as applying a cold compress to the treated area. Your skin will feel like its been sunburnt during the process and in turn treat it as such with SPF 30 cream if sun exposure is unavoidable. This reaction will subside, and within a few hours the area returns to normal. Since the laser does not burn or cut the skin in any way, no bandages are necessary, and you can return to your normal activities immediately.
